Towards Sustainability contrasts the very hectic, stressful and damaging way of life we have created for ourselves and are now trapped within, with the peace and balance of the natural world. I use the insect metamorphosis to suggest that on an individual level, we need a change and an awakening to a new way of living, more in tune with the rest of the existence.
The cocoons, made of human hair, various other threads and strips of the acetate photocopies used to demonstrate our way of life, suggest that by somehow using some of what we have and are now, we can make this journey to a new way of life. Using our technology and experience with an added dimension of right values, perhaps we could create a sustainable way of life.
